Rani Durgavati, born October 5th 1524 and died June 25th 1564, was a Hindu woman who successfully ruled the Gond Dynasty after her husbands death and lead multiple battles protecting her kingdom.


Took over husbands Gond Dynasty

Relocated the capital to Chauragarh

1556- fought Baz Banadur to his loss

1564- fought against Mughal general. While facing a loss she killed herself with a dagger with the mindset that it is better to die         respectfully than live a disgraceful life.

Had great leadership while ruling her dynasty and leading her army

Showed great strength by taking over for her husband
